Panchkula, Sept. 2 -- Haryana Police have arrested a Mumbai resident in connection with an alleged Rs 20.72 lakh fraud involving a fake tax invoice and weight-related documents, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
The accused, Manish Mehta, a resident of Andheri West, Mumbai, was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Hisar, on the directions of Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, IPS.
According to a Haryana Police spokesman, the complainant, Mahendra Singh of Hisar, runs M/s Mahendra Singh Contractor, engaged in road and bridge construction. The complainant had previously conducted business with the accused's firm, Cermix, in bitumen and later discussed purchasing base oil from the firm.
