Panchkula, Sept. 2 -- Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has directed officials to prepare a region-wise crop calendar based on local climatic conditions and formulate a pilot project to provide farmers with 'Jeevamrit' prepared from cow dung and urine at gaushalas, as part of efforts to reduce cultivation costs and increase farm incomes.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on "Mission for Self-Reliance in Agriculture" in Chandigarh, Rana said farmers should be guided towards crops requiring less water and fertiliser so that cultivation becomes more profitable.
