Panchkula, June 24 -- The Haryana government has directed all deputy commissioners, district magistrates, and other field officers to ensure strict implementation of the revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Government of India for the identification, rescue, and rehabilitation of bonded labourers and the prosecution of offenders.

A spokesperson for the Haryana Labour Department said that a communication to this effect has been received from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

The revised SOP introduces strict timelines and accountability measures to ensure prompt rescue of bonded labourers and speedy action against those involved in forced labour practices.
