Panchkula, Aug. 27 -- The Haryana Government has announced the Zonal Master Plan for the Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) around the Haryana side of the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary in Panchkula district, outlining a detailed plan to protect the sensitive environment while supporting eco-friendly development and safeguarding the livelihoods of local communities.

The Haryana Environment, Forest and Wildlife Department issued the notification on August 26, under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, following the union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's November 11, 2024 notification, which declared an area from 1 km to 2.035 km around the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary in Haryana as an Eco-Sensitive Zone.
