Panchkula, July 4 -- In a significant step towards strengthening maternal healthcare, Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao has directed all government health centres across the state to provide free oral health screening to every pregnant woman.
The screening has been made mandatory during the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) and e-PMSMA clinic days.
Launching the 'Muskaan Se Matritva Tak' (From Smile to Motherhood) initiative, the Health Minister said the programme is designed to ensure early detection and timely treatment of dental and gum-related problems during pregnancy, thereby improving health outcomes for both mothers and newborns.
