Chandigarh, March 12 -- In a significant push toward river rejuvenation, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the state's ongoing efforts to curb pollution in the Yamuna.
During the session, the Chief Secretary ordered the formation of dedicated, drain-wise committees to monitor effluent flow and quality. These committees, to be chaired by the respective Divisional Commissioners, will include members from all relevant departments and are mandated to meet every 15 days, submitting fortnightly progress reports to the Chairman of the Haryana Pollution Control Board.
