Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 2 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday hailed the state's athletes after they accounted for seven of India's 13 gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, saying their performance once again underlined Haryana's position as one of the country's strongest sporting centres.

Congratulating the medal winners, Saini said Haryana's contingent returned with seven gold, two silver and one bronze medals.

He said the achievements reflected years of investment in sports infrastructure and athlete support, adding that the success would inspire young sportspersons across the state.
