Chandigarh, April 27 -- The Haryana Legislative Assembly witnessed intense political drama on Monday as the ruling government passed a unanimous resolution condemning the Congress party for boycotting a special session convened to discuss the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.

While the House debated the landmark legislation, members of Congress opted to hold a "parallel session" in the parking area of the Assembly complex.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini dismissed the opposition's maneuver, remarking that those whose "tyres have been punctured" are destined to remain in the parking lot. He criticized the opposition for failing their constituents, stating that leaders elected to debate in the House were instead "fighting shadows" outside.
