Chandigarh, Jan. 22 -- Haryana's Urban Local Bodies Department completed the reservation draw for mayoral elections in three municipal corporations, Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat. Ambala's mayor seat has been earmarked for a BC-B woman candidate, while Panchkula and Sonipat remain unreserved.
The tenure of the sitting mayors and councillors in these cities concluded earlier this month, prompting the draw, which was held today after two previous attempts on December 1 and December 15 had been postponed.
