Panchkula, Sept. 10 -- The Railway Board has clarified that disciplinary inquiries against railway employees can be conducted through video conferencing even in cases not involving a pandemic or natural calamity, provided the disciplinary authority is satisfied about the need for the digital mode and records its reasons in writing.
The clarification, issued under the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, makes it clear that the use of video conferencing for departmental inquiries is not restricted only to exceptional situations such as pandemics or natural disasters.
