Panchkula, June 27 -- Panchkula Police has arrested a car driver on June 26 for causing a fatal road accident in the Raipur Rani area that claimed the lives of two young motorcyclists on the night of June 23, Deputy Commissioner of Police Panchkula Srishti Gupta said.
According to Raipur Rani Police Station in-charge PSI Pritam, the accident occurred at around 9:30 pm on June 23 when a motorcycle travelling from village Bhund towards village Mandlaye was struck head-on by a jeep coming from the opposite direction. The jeep driver was allegedly driving at high speed and with reckless negligence. Both riders on the motorcycle - the rider and the pillion - sustained critical injuries in the collision.
