Panchkula, July 6 -- The Economic Offences Wing-I of the Panchkula Police has arrested an accused in connection with an alleged land fraud involving Rs 46 lakh, in which a piece of land was allegedly sold despite a court-ordered stay on its transfer.
The accused, identified as Yogesh Jindal, was produced before a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody. The investigation into the case is continuing.
According to Inspector Sukhbir Singh, in charge of the Economic Offences Wing-I, the case was registered at Raipur Rani Police Station on the complaint of a buyer who alleged that in 2022, a deal was finalised for the purchase of approximately 7 kanals and 19 marlas of land in Natwal village at the rate of Rs 1.05 crore per acre.
