Panchkula, Sept. 18 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the reported death of a four-year-old girl after she fell into an uncovered manhole near her house in Haryana's Palwal district and sought a detailed report from the district authorities within two weeks.
The Commission has issued notices to the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police, Palwal, seeking the status of the investigation and details of any compensation paid to the child's next of kin.
According to the NHRC, the girl fell into the uncovered manhole while playing near her house on September 14. Her family members and residents found her inside and rushed her in a critical condition to the District Civil Hospital, wher...
