Panchkula, Sept. 11 -- A court in Gurugram has convicted a 28-year-old man in a case involving the rape and abduction of a 17-year-old girl, sentencing him to 20 years' imprisonment, according to a press release issued by a Haryana Police official.
Following the conviction, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 under the relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the press release, a complaint regarding the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl was received at Sector-14 Police Station, Gurugram, on April 9, 2023. A case was subsequently registered under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
