Panchkula, June 24 -- In a major outreach to serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and Agniveers, Haryana has positioned itself as the first state in the country to provide reservation in government jobs for Agniveers after their military service, while also extending government employment to the families of 420 martyrs.
Announcing a series of welfare measures, Haryana Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the state is committed to ensuring that those who serve the nation do not face uncertainty after leaving the armed forces.
He said no nation can truly repay the sacrifice of its soldiers, but governments must stand firmly with them and their families.
