Panchkula, Sept. 14 -- Haryana Police has prepared a database of 45,207 active criminals and verified the current status of 26,026 of them, or 57.57 per cent, as part of an intelligence-based crime monitoring exercise aimed at identifying active offenders, tracking their networks and enabling preventive action before crimes occur.

The verification exercise, conducted under the RJSF pattern, covers the period from February 1 to August 25. Of the 26,026 criminals whose status has been verified, 7,425 were found at their registered addresses, 1,612 were in jail, and 375 were found to have died, according to Haryana Police.
