Panchkula, June 24 -- A 12-year-old girl was rescued after getting trapped in a muddy patch inside the Kaushalya Dam in Pinjore, Panchkula district, officials and local residents said today.
According to information, the girl had entered the dried portion of the dam to catch fish. While moving through the reservoir bed, she reportedly stepped into a marshy area and got stuck in the mud, making it difficult for her to come out on her own.
After receiving information about the incident, dam staff and local residents reached the spot and launched a rescue effort. The girl was safely pulled out after some time. She did not suffer any major injuries.
