Panchkula, June 23 -- In a major breakthrough in inter-state water cooperation, Haryana and Rajasthan have agreed on the supply of Rajasthan's share of water under the 1994 Upper Yamuna River Board (UYRB) Agreement, with both states set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) next Monday.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil in New Delhi, attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, his counterpart in Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, and senior officials from both states.
