Chandigarh, April 16 -- In a significant gesture of institutional support and social responsibility, Punjab Finance and Transport Minister Harpal Singh Cheema presented a compensation cheque amounting to Rs 40 lakh to the grieving family of the late Ramandeep Singh. The deceased served as a conductor with the PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) and tragically lost his life while performing his professional duties.
The Minister handed over the insurance claim to the conductor's father, Pargat Singh, at a formal gathering held in the state capital on Thursday.
