New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Friday handed over two LCA Tejas Final Operational Clearance (FOC) twin-seat trainer aircraft and three HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force, besides four Dhruv Next Generation (NG) helicopters to Pawan Hans Limited, in a major boost to India's indigenous military and civil aerospace programmes.

The platforms were handed over in Bengaluru in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, with Singh describing the occasion as an important step towards building domestic aerospace capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign platforms.
