Visakhapatnam, Aug. 7 -- The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has launched a city-wide "Dial-A-Tanker" service to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply amid shortages in some parts of the city, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg said on Friday.
In a statement, the Commissioner said ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply remains the civic body's top priority and the new initiative aims to provide water to citizens in a faster, more transparent and convenient manner.
He said the service received an encouraging response on its very first day, with 245 water tanker bookings registered at the GVMC City Operations Centre (COC) by 7 p.m. All requests are being processed on priority to ensure timely delivery of drinking wat...
