Panchkula, Sept. 29 -- In a major tightening of winter pollution-control measures, vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate and those that have crossed their prescribed age limit under applicable rules will not be allowed to buy petrol or diesel in Gurugram, while more than 1,000 pollution-emitting sites are being brought under direct electronic surveillance.
The directions were issued at the 13th District Coordination Committee meeting chaired on Tuesday by D.S. Dhesi, Principal Advisor to the Haryana Government on Urban Development, as the administration moved to step up enforcement ahead of the winter pollution season.
Dhesi said the fuel restriction would be implemented on the lines of Delhi.
