Srinagar, June 25 -- Operations at the Gulmarg Gondola, one of Kashmir's premier tourist attractions, resumed on Thursday after remaining suspended for a month following a major technical malfunction that stranded nearly 300 tourists and prompted a large-scale rescue operation.
The cable car services were halted on May 25 after a technical snag developed in the first phase of the ropeway, leaving tourists trapped in dozens of cabins for several hours. Personnel from Cable Car, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were mobilised to rescue all passengers safely.
