Durgapur, June 5 -- The impact of drastic changes in land use practices in West Bengal's Durgapur and its suburbs over the past three and a half decades to facilitate faster urbanisation, besides industrialisation, have left a severe adverse impact on the surroundings here resulting an increased level of Urban Heat Islands over the period.
