Rio De Janeiro, July 13 -- Gremio manager Luis Castro has confirmed that Cabo Verde international Jovane Cabral had joined the Brazilian Serie A club on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old agreed to an 18-month deal after his contract with Portugal's Estrela da Amadora expired at the end of last season.
He will be eligible to play from July 20, when Brazil's mid-season transfer window opens.
"He's a player who was at the World Cup, played matches and can operate on the left or through the middle," Castro told reporters.
"He joins a group committed to the work and the objectives for the season. I think he has the quality to become part of our squad."Cabral has also had spells at Sporting CP, Lazio and Olympiacos, among other clubs.
