Hyderabad, Oct. 31 -- Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Saturday directed all government departments to use treated water for construction, landscaping, cleaning and other non-drinking purposes as part of coordinated measures to conserve freshwater and groundwater resources and ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply in the core urban region.
Reviewing the drinking water supply situation at the Secretariat, he said the Green Tankers initiative would be launched in the core urban region from November 1 to promote the use of treated water for non-potable requirements.
He instructed officials to regularly test the quality of treated water supplied by Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
