Mandi (HP), March 23 -- A retired soldier opened fire with his licensed weapon during a family dispute in Lohara village of Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district resulting in his grandson getting injured, police said on Monday.
In this incident on Sunday night, the soldier's grandson, Umesh Chaudhary, sustained critical injuries. After receiving preliminary treatment, the injured youth was sent to Nerchowk Medical College and subsequently to AIIMS Bilaspur; however, due to his critical condition, he has been referred to PGI Chandigarh.
The accused has been identified as Bahadur Singh.
