Varanasi, Aug. 22 -- An unique cultural and religious spectacle will be witnessed on August 25 in the holy city of Kashi.
According to popular belief, during the month of Shrawan, Lord Shiva resides with his family at the Sarangnath Mahadev Temple in Sarnath, his in-laws' home.
To bring this belief to life, the residents of Kashi and the in-laws will organise a grand earthen Shivling consecration and Jhulanotsav for Baba Vishwanath.
Shiv Baraat Committee patron Deepak Bajaj said here on Saturday that the festival is being organised under the joint auspices of the Samuhik Rudrabhishek Peetham, Shiv Baraat Committee, and Shivanjali. A collective Rudrabhishek of 501 earthen Shivlingas will be performed.
