Varanasi, May 17 -- On the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra on May 26 in the holy city of Kashi, a special Ganga aarti will be performed, along with several other rituals.
The world-famous Ganga aarti at the ancient Dashashwamedh Ghat will be performed by 11 Brahmins and 22 girls (Riddhi-Siddhi).
Assi Ghat Aarti administrator Acharya Vikas Pandey stated here on Sunday that the holy festival of Ganga Dussehra is celebrated as the day of Mother Ganga's descent to earth. Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha (the bright fortnight of Jyeshtha month). On this day, a milk bath will be performed in the morning with 51 liters of milk.
