Mumbai, June 29 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed satisfaction over the death sentence awarded in the Nasrapur minor girl rape and murder case.
Talking to mediapersons in the state legislative premises, he warned that Maharashtra is a state governed by law and that criminals will not receive any protection here.
Shinde said that justice has been delivered through this verdict and that it sends a clear warning to those who commit atrocities against women and girls.
He said this is a strong message that no one will dare to commit such a heinous act in the future. Such criminals have no place in society or in a law-governed state. "They have no right to live," he said.
