Kolkata, Nov. 17 -- Taking strong exception to remarks by Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee that "arms and ammunition are distributed in Raj Bhavan", West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose has directed Kolkata Police to register an FIR and initiate an investigation into the TMC MP's explosive allegations.
The Governor's office has also reportedly warned the city police that non-compliance with the directive could invite action under constitutional powers vested in the Governor. Raj Bhavan is also considering all legal options, including writing to the Lok Sabha Secretariat seeking action against Banerjee for his remarks.
