Hyderabad, June 19 -- Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday called for a united effort to make Telangana drug-free and urged students, parents, educational institutions and the media to actively participate in the campaign against substance abuse.
Speaking after distributing "Young India" Student Welcome Kits and administering an anti-drug pledge at the L.B. Stadium here, the Governor said students are not only the asset of the present but also the future of India.
He lauded the state government's initiative of providing student kits, noting that day scholars are receiving kits worth about Rs 1,500 while residential students are being provided kits worth nearly RS 3,000 containing books, uniforms and other essential educational ...
