Kolkata, Nov. 21 -- West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose turned a quiet Howrah morning into a lively, people-centric affair today as he travelled through riverine villages under his new outreach initiative, Jaltaranga.
Far from the formal aura of Raj Bhavan, the Governor spent the day mingling with residents "just like one of their own," as several locals remarked with delight.
After flagging off the Jaltaranga steamer from Babughat early in the morning, the Governor sailed towards the Hooghly's western bank, taking in the sights of the riverside settlements.
