Imphal, Oct. 14 -- Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho on Wednesday called for collective efforts by the government, local communities, educational institutions and other stakeholders to protect the state's wildlife, biodiversity and natural habitats.
They were speaking at the grand finale of the 72nd Wildlife Week Celebration, 2026, organised by the Forest Department, Government of Manipur, at the City Convention Centre in Palace Compound, Imphal, under the theme "Connecting Habitat, Thriving Wildlife".
Addressing the gathering, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighted Manipur's rich natural heritage, characterised by its hills, lush forests, wetlands and extraordinary biodiversity.
