Mumbai, Feb. 24 -- Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that crops damaged due to unseasonal rain and hailstorm across the state, will be surveyed and affected farmers provided compensation.

He made the statement while responding to questions regarding destruction caused to agricultural produce by rain, hailstorm and strong winds.

During the discussion, MLA Dhananjay Munde informed the House that on Monday, several districts of Marathwada, including Beed, Latur, Parbhani, Dharashiv and Nanded, along with parts of Konkan and East Vidarbha, suffered heavy crop losses.
