Government finalises framework for transfer of M2M SIM ownership

New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today issued an office memorandum notifying the framework for transfer of M2M SIM ownership from one M2M Service Provider (M2M SP)/Licensee to another M2M Service Provider (M2M SP)/Licensee, an official statement said.

Basically, this framework establishes a formal procedure for M2M SIM ownership transfer to ensure a smooth and compliant transition without service discontinuity. This is applicable to all M2M SIM Service Providers (M2MSPs)/Licensees.

Currently, there's no provision for a change in the name of M2M SIMs under the prevailing guidelines, so M2M services for the affected end consumers may get disrupted whenever there is a situation that necessitates a change of M2...
