Patna, Aug. 2 -- Bihar Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.) on Sunday called upon the youth to make character, discipline and self-respect the foundation of their lives, saying that whenever he interacts with young people, he sees the future of India in them.

Attending "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan" through video conferencing, the programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said the campaign aims to transform the fight against substance abuse into a people''s movement by encouraging active participation of the youth.

Drawing on his experience of serving for over four decades in the Indian Army, Hasnain said a soldier''s greatest strength is not his weapon but his character and discipline.
