Gopalganj, Aug. 26 -- The Gopalganj district administration has stepped up vigilance and inspected vulnerable areas in view of the possibility of a rise in the water level of the Gandak River following a flash flood in Nepal.

Additional Collector, Disaster Management, Rajeshwari Pandey and Gopalganj Sub-Divisional Officer Dr Prerna Singh conducted a field inspection of areas considered vulnerable to a rise in the river''s water level on Wednesday.

During the inspection, the officials reviewed the situation on the ground along with the Executive Engineer.
