Chandigarh, July 16 -- The Golden Temple in Amritsar has received a third bomb threat in as many days, triggering heightened security in and around the holy site. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) received a threatening email warning of explosions using RDX-filled pipes inside the temple.
Though the exact contents of the message have been withheld due to security concerns, bomb squads and sniffer dogs have been deployed for investigation.
SGPC and Amritsar police are on high alert, with BSF and police commandos stationed at the site. Surveillance has been intensified, and all visitors are being strictly monitored.
