Hyderabad, Jan. 13 -- GMR Aero Cargo & Logistics on Tuesday launched India's first airside reefer truck at Hyderabad Airport, marking a major upgrade in temperature-controlled cargo handling.
The specialised truck is designed to maintain cold-chain integrity during airside movement of sensitive consignments between the cargo terminal and aircraft, reducing temperature exposure during ramp transfers.
It supports a temperature range of 2degC to 25degC and can carry pharmaceuticals, seafood, dairy, meat, flowers, fruits, vegetables and other perishables.
Built on a Tata chassis with a 10-tonne payload, the reefer truck can accommodate two lower-deck ULDs, improving operational efficiency and cutting multiple trips during aircraft loading.
