Buenos Aires, May 5 -- Luciano Cingolani scored late as Gimnasia Mendoza recovered froma goal down to secure a 2-1 home win over Defensa y Justicia on the last day of Argentina's Apertura regular season.
Ayrton Portillo gave the visitors the lead with a 12th-minute strike but Ezequiel Munoz equalized on the half hour with a powerful finish following a set piece on Monday.
Cingolani completed the turnaround in the 73rd minute when he combined with Ignacio Sabatini and finished clinically into the bottom-right corner.
The result left Gimnasia 11th in the 15-team Group A standings, behind 10th-placed Defensa y Justicia on goal difference. Both sides failed to claim a playoff spot.
