New Delhi, July 29 -- India tightened their grip on the latest ICC rankings on Wednesday with Shubman Gill returning to the top of the ODI batting charts, Ishan Kishan retaining his position as the world's No. 1 T20I batter and teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerging as the biggest gainer after his impressive outing against Zimbabwe.

Gill reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ODI batting rankings after New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell slipped from the summit. Mitchell had occupied the top position since January, but the lack of recent international cricket allowed the Indian opener to regain top billing.

The biggest talking point in the rankings update, however, was the meteoric rise of 15-year-old Sooryavanshi. The youngster jumped 230 places...
