Bengaluru, July 9 -- Karnataka's drive to strengthen its rural economy and preserve its traditional heritage has received a boost with four iconic products, led by the renowned Tiptur copra, moving closer to securing Geographical Indication (GI) status.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is facilitating the GI registration process for Tiptur copra from Tumakuru district, Hoysala-style stone sculptures, Sanekatte natural salt from Uttara Kannada district and Kumbi Mudli, a rare taro variety grown in the Joida region of Uttara Kannada.
