Accra, Feb. 18 -- Ghana will take on the FIFA World Cup co-host Mexico national football team in an international friendly on May 22, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed on Tuesday.
The high-profile encounter will serve as the Black Stars' third confirmed preparatory match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals in June. Ghana have already lined up friendlies against Austria and Germany in March as part of their build-up, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The West Africans, who will be making their fifth appearance at the global showpiece, kick off their 2026 campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto. They will then face England and Croatia in their remaining Group L fixtures as they aim to progress beyond the group stage.
