Bengaluru, July 21 -- Officials of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) were allegedly assaulted by a group of people while clearing footpath encroachments in Bengaluru's Shivajinagar on Tuesday, triggering a strong response from the state government and police.
The attack occurred during an anti-encroachment operation in the busy commercial locality, where GBA personnel were enforcing directions for removal of illegal footpath encroachments. The officials allegedly came under attack while discharging their duties.
Police subsequently detained seven persons in connection with the incident. An FIR has been registered at the Commercial Street Police Station based on a complaint lodged by Assistant Executive Engineer Madhava Rao.
