Bhubaneswar, July 24 -- The Ganatantrik Adhikar Surakhya Sangathan (GASS) on Friday demanded the immediate disbursement of compensation announced for the families of victims of the ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing factory in Tamil Nadu, while calling for comprehensive rehabilitation and stronger safeguards for migrant tribal workers.
Releasing the report of its two-member fact-finding team here, GASS President Gyan Ranjan Nayak and General Secretary Shrimanta Mohanty said the tragedy, which claimed the lives of 15 young migrant women workers from Odisha and injured 14 others, was "not merely an industrial accident but a grim reflection of the failure of tribal development and migrant labour policies."The organisation also demanded ...
