Bhubaneswar, June 19 -- Ganjam district has emerged as a frontrunner in Odisha's clean energy transition, with 11,187 rooftop solar systems already operational under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) Model.
According to a release issued by TPSODL, the rapid adoption of rooftop solar has delivered visible results, with nearly 3,000 households in the district recording zero electricity bills in May 2026.
A total of 2,943 consumers in Ganjam paid no electricity charges during the month after installing rooftop solar systems under the flagship programme, reinforcing the district's position as a major contributor to Odisha's renewable energy movement.
