Patna, Aug. 27 -- The water level of the Gandak river, which had started receding after reaching a peak of 1,50,200 cusecs at 11 pm on Wednesday, is witnessing a fresh rise due to late rainfall in the Devghat area, the Bihar Water Resources Department said on Thursday.
According to the department, the Gandak had remained at the peak level of 1,50,200 cusecs at 11 pm on Wednesday, following which a continuous decline in the water level was recorded. However, rainfall reported later in the Devghat region has resulted in the river level rising again.
