Nagpur, June 7 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday defended the recent hike in fuel and LPG prices, attributing it to disruptions caused by ongoing global conflicts and asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had handled the situation effectively.

Reacting to Opposition criticism over rising inflation and escalating prices of essential commodities, Fadnavis said the surge in petrol, diesel and cooking gas rates was a global phenomenon driven by prevailing international conditions.
