Agartala, Aug. 4 -- The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) suspended the licence of a packaged drinking water unit in Tripura's Gomati district due to serious violations of food safety and hygiene regulations.

The suspension followed a consumer complaint about foreign materials in the packaged drinking water, prompting FSSAI officials to conduct an inspection.

During the inspection, critical deficiencies compromising product quality and consumer safety were discovered, including improper storage of finished packaged drinking water bottles and poor sanitary conditions within the manufacturing unit.
